Matilde Cigars Opens the Pineapple Cigar Factory

Enrique and Ricardo Seijas brought Matilde's full existing range to Dortmund, but the news on the stand was a factory.

The family has opened the Pineapple Cigar Factory, built to house a new brand and to take on private label work. The name draws on the pineapple as a symbol of the family being brought together.

The new brand arrives next year with five lines, blended from tobaccos of several growing regions that the family has not yet disclosed. A further line is also planned for Matilde itself.

The United States remains the main market, with the company expanding into Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Ricardo Seijas handles distribution outside the United States.
